Here Am I

In the Bible, I Samuel 3, Eli instructs Samuel to answer the Lord’s call. So too, this beautiful solo encourages us to answer “Lord, here am I”.

the senses deceitful picture, the serpent’s lying tongue.
Know you are hid in Christ. He is your very life.

On winds of inspiration take your freedom flight.
Hold Truth’s mighty wing, dominion is your right.
Beloved child of God soar where eagles fly.
Receive His blessing, when you answer,
“Lord, here am I”.

Know you are unspotted, by thought or circumstance.
You’ve always been God’s image, not subject to change or chance.
Never fear resistance that would fail the blessed light.
Open your heart with gratitude and say,
“Here am I”.

Christ is the light of the world that leads through the night.
Christ is our shield, our rock, our fortress, the champion of right.
On Him we place reliance.
When He calls give your reply without fear or hesitation,
“Here am I, Lord, here am I”.
